Policy Explainer: AI Harms and Proposed Interventions

Queer people disproportionately experience harms including violence, stigma, discrimination, and erasure. AI development has often excluded queer people. This has led to AI that reproduces these harms, and risks further entrenching them in the near future. If AI is not designed to minimize risk of harm to queer people, it only stands to reproduce them, posing risks to queer communities.
